What our Maple Ridge accountants handle
Most of our Maple Ridge clients are incorporated business owners who want the year-end, the books and their personal return in one place rather than split across three providers.
Corporate year-end & T2
Financial statements and the corporate return, prepared and filed. The core of what we do.
Bookkeeping
Monthly books for clients whose year-end we also prepare, so nothing has to be reconciled between two firms.
Personal tax (T1)
Owner and family returns, prepared alongside the corporate file so the two agree.
GST/PST & payroll
Filings and remittances on your schedule, from books that are already closed.
Incorporation & setup
Getting a new company registered and its first year structured properly.
CRA correspondence
Reviews, requests and catch-up filings. Tell us on the first call if CRA has already written to you.
Books and corporate taxes in one office
We take on monthly bookkeeping for incorporated businesses whose corporate year-end we also prepare. If you are looking for a bookkeeper on their own and your year-end is filed elsewhere, we are not the right firm and we will say so on the first call rather than waste your time.
Books kept by someone who never sees the year-end get coded for tidiness, not for the return. Shareholder loans drift, vehicle and home-office allocations get guessed, capital purchases sit in repairs. Keeping both in one place removes the handover where that happens.
What it costs
Corporate year-end work is quoted on the state of the records and the complexity of the company, not on a headline rate that moves once we open the file. Monthly bookkeeping is priced on transaction volume, and catch-up work is quoted separately from the ongoing fee.
You get the fee in writing before any work starts. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you on the call.
We work in what you already use
QuickBooks Online primarily — Greg is a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. We also work in Sage, CaseWare and Wave, and we can work from a desktop file or from spreadsheets.
If migrating is not worth it for your transaction volume, we will tell you that rather than assume it is.
Behind on filings?
Most files that come to us are behind, sometimes by years. That is a normal starting point, not an embarrassing one. We bring things current first, tell you what the catch-up costs before we begin, then move you onto a regular cycle.
The sooner it is done the smaller the interest and penalties get.
Maple Ridge accounting questions we get
Where is your Maple Ridge office?
Suite 300, 22420 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 3J5. It is an appointment office — call 604-670-4256 or book a 15-minute call and we will arrange a time.
Do I have to come in at all?
No. Documents move through a secure portal and we work with clients across BC. The office is there if you would rather hand things over in person.
Do you do personal tax returns, or only corporate?
Both. Most of our work is corporate year-ends and T2 returns, and we prepare the owner’s personal return alongside it so the two agree. We also take standalone personal returns.
Do you take bookkeeping-only clients in Maple Ridge?
No. We take on monthly bookkeeping for clients whose corporate year-end we also prepare. If your year-end is handled elsewhere, we will tell you on the first call that we are not the right fit.
What does a corporate year-end cost?
It depends on the state of the records and the complexity of the company. We quote it in writing after a short call, before any work begins.
My corporation is behind several years. Can you help?
Yes, and it is common. We quote the catch-up separately, bring the filings current, then move you to a regular cycle. Tell us on the first call if CRA has already contacted you — it changes the order we do things in, not whether we take it on.
Start with a 15-minute call
Tell us your year-end date, whether the books are current, and anything CRA has sent you. We will tell you what it takes and what it costs.
